What is carbon zero? The mission to understand and manage global greenhouse gases that have, or continue to be released into our atmosphere. Carbon zero is the operation of mitigating creation, and removing legacy emissions that exist in our skies. Balancing these to zero and beyond into negativity is for global good.
-
What are greenhouse gases?Greenhouse gases are flooded into our atmosphere from the combustion of mainly fossil fuels. Carbon dioxide, alongside other gases such as nitrous oxides and methanes make up the majority of these emissions.
-
What is carbon removal?Carbon removal is the process of capturing atmospheric carbon dioxide. There are a variety of advanced technologies operational performing this critical task.
-
What is DAC?DAC stands for direct air capture. This is the technology classified that Verdant utilise in removing atmospheric carbon dioxide emissions.
-
What is sequestration? The subject of sequestration covers the process from air removal, through to permanent storage ensuring that removed carbon dioxide remains stored and unable to return to the atmosphere.
-
What is a gigatonne?A gigatonne is 1,000,000,000 tonnes and to put into reference we must removal at least 10-gigatonne of atmospheric carbon dioxide per year to limit climate change.
-
Renewable Energy SourceOur solution is designed to operate fully from renewable energy and integrate to all current clean energy projects to maximise our carbon removal additionality.
-
Community ImpactSensitive to both nature, and the communities around our deployments, we build in biodiversity increases, provide community beneficial renewable energy, deliver green skills education support to the schools locally, commission full-time job opportunities all the whilst removing carbon dioxide and cleaning the air for today and future generations.

Why is CDR crucial for net zero?Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) is essential for achieving net-zero emissions because it addresses the residual emissions from sectors that are difficult to fully decarbonise, such as agriculture, aviation, and heavy industry. While emission reductions through renewable energy and energy efficiency are crucial, CDR compensates for the emissions that remain. It also helps to reverse the build-up of historical emissions, which are driving current climate change impacts. Scientific consensus suggests that CDR is necessary to meet global climate targets, such as limiting warming to 1.5°C, as emissions cuts alone are insufficient. Furthermore, CDR supports industries that cannot reach zero emissions through technology alone by providing a way to balance their emissions. In some cases, CDR can even create negative emissions, removing more carbon than is emitted and helping to cool the planet, making it vital for long-term climate goals.
